Honestly though I lost 42k this week or around 20% of my account, but this is not even unusual. Over roughly the last two years, actually 23 and 24 I had nearly 20 weeks with drawdowns over 20%. Also I have had total drawdowns over 50% a hand full of times. The latter I try to avoid but it can happen.
I wouldn’t recommend this type of trading for a novice but for me, the risk is worth every penny as last year I made over 700%.
My best % returns in one calendar year. This week I just got sloppy and added longs into Friday. Leaving me much more exposed than ideal.. Next week I could make all that money back or lose more, but one things for certain as with you. I will just stick to the strategy and keep moving forward without hesitation.
Just keep up the good work Edward, it’s not easy on weeks like the last to make the green but having the right mix of positions, you can clean up. Onward and upward man.
I take nothing for granted but yup experience helps bigly. After living through the Dot Com and 08 like you have, I know very well this could be a real severe recession if these tariffs stay in place. Multiyear... Bill Akerman essentially said the same this weekend on X .
These markets, for me, are why I invest now mostly in ETFs and take a very conservative approach to investing. Trade aggressively, invest conservatively is my creed.
Hopefully, this structure keeps me grounded as it has before, but only time will tell!!
